Background

A St. Petersburg native and life-long resident, Ms. Smith joined the Wills, Trusts and Estates Department at Fisher & Sauls, P.A. in 2012. Prior to joining Fisher & Sauls, Ms. Smith served for three years as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of St. Petersburg and spent two years in a private law office practicing in the areas of wills, trusts and estates, real property, and corporate law. As an Assistant City Attorney at the City of St. Petersburg, Ms. Smith represented the Mayor, City Council and City Administration, focusing her practice in the areas of land use, contracts, ordinance drafting, and code enforcement.

Ms. Smith is very active in several local professional associations, including her role as President of the St. Petersburg Bar Association, leading approximately 1,000 local attorneys and judges. She is a member of the Suncoast Estate Planning Council and the Suncoast Hospice Professional Partners Council. In 2015, Ms. Smith was a finalist in the “Woman to Watch” category of the Iconic Women of Vision Awards presented by the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce.

In the community, Ms. Smith served as a Guardian ad Litem in the Sixth Judicial Circuit from 2008 to 2016 and had the distinction of being named a “Master Guardian ad Litem” for her dedication and skill in advocating for children in the dependency system in Pinellas County. She is a volunteer in the Academy of Finance program at Northeast High School, where she mentors students in professionalism and career development skills. She also volunteers her time at the Community Law Program Elder Law and Probate Clinics, providing legal advice and services to low-income Pinellas residents. She was recognized as the Community Law Program Volunteer of the Month in May 2015 for her service.

Ms. Smith graduated Magna Cum Laude from Stetson University College of Law, where she received a full merit scholarship and was selected for the Honors Program. While an undergraduate student at The College of William and Mary, Ms. Smith was an active member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and was inducted into numerous academic and leadership honor societies, including the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She graduated high school from the International Baccalaureate Program at St. Petersburg High School. Ms. Smith remains a proud and active alumnus for each of her beloved schools.

Ms. Smith is an avid traveler and, when not working or volunteering, is generally either planning or enjoying her next travel adventure.
