Alex was born in St. Pete to Nate and Katie Travis, two longtime residents of the Tampa Bay Area. Although his brother, Nathan Travis, attended Northeast High, Alex chose to enroll in the International Baccalaureate Program at St. Pete High, where he played football and was a captain of the debate team. Alexís experience competing in debate tournaments across the State and at the Harvard National Policy Debate Tournament inspired him to pursue a legal education after high school. He enrolled in the 2013 class of the University Of Florida Honors College, where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Alex graduated from UF in just three years, earning a bachelorís degree in Political Science. After graduating, Alex matriculated at the University Of Florida Levin College Of Law, earning his Juris Doctor as a part of the class of 2016. Rather than immediately pursue a career in the law, Alex chose to earn his Masters of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from the University Of Florida Levin College Of Law, the third ranked program in the nation. Alex joined Fisher & Sauls in June of 2017 after graduating at the top of his LL.M. class in May, 2017. St. Pete has shaped Alex throughout his life, and he is excited to return to the Sunshine City as an attorney, where he will work tirelessly to make it a better place for all of its residents.
